Abbeyfeale Oral History Association (AOHA) is a group of five oral history researchers working together to capture and preserve the memories and stories of people living in Abbeyfeale. We are recording face-to-face interviews and these are being preserved as a permanent resource on the social and cultural life and history of Abbeyfeale and its people.
We are currently planning a new project focussing on a large locally-based multinational company, capturing its stories from start-up 40 years ago, what it was like for the people who brought the company to rural Abbeyfeale, what it was like for some of the locals who have worked there and the stories of those outside in the community who felt the resulting changes in their social, cultural and economic lives. We believe that every story deserves to be told.
